3 Things Thursday

1. I hope soccer practice gets cancelled. It's rainy/drizzly and a bit chilly out. Doesn't sound like fun weather for watching your kid kick around a soccer ball and do little soccer drills, huh!? Boo hiss. I'm pretty sure it will not be cancelled bcause it starts in an hour and a half and so far no call or email. I know I am a horrible mom for wanting it cancelled in the first place. Oh well. It's how I feel.

2. I had an orthodontist appt today. While sitting in the room I snapped this pic...
Do you notice the wallpaper? Ick. Birds and butterflies and totally out of date. There is much worse wall paper in that office but I was afraid I would get busted taking pics and then I would have to explain that I think they should totally do a makeover of the office. The other wall paper is dark colored stripes (burgandy, navy, hunter green) and another portion of it is this weird paisley design. It's just bad. This bird and butterfly paper is no better though.

3. My kids are being jerks today perfect angels and on days like today I am just so glad to have had to take the day off and spend it at home with them. So much more fun than being stuck in my office with walls almost as bad as those pictured above. All moms have these days, right!?

Wordless Wednesday

Tuesday Randoms on Wednesday

~ The weather was nice today. Woke up to freezing (or what felt like) temps but by this afternoon it was sunny and perfect. Meaning the skies were blue and the temps just right. I have no specifics but you guys already know I am not a meteorologist.

~ I have out of town guests (my mom and her hubby) coming in this weekend for our race. I have not done a thing to get my house ready. It's a shame really. I have done some laundry but I have not swept, mopped, cleaned toilets or all that other good stuff I should do not only on a regular basis (which we do) but double time before company comes. Ahh. Hubby swears we will get it all done between Weds and Thurs evening. He better be right because it is really the only one thing I am stressing over this week.

~ I still haven't convinced the hubby to braid my hair for our race on Sunday. So, I've hit up Facebook to see if any of my local friends can do the favor. So far no hits. I may just be sporting a boring ponytail on race day. Thank goodness I ordered

~ I was looking at the kids calendar for April... yep. It is jammed full of stuff. Birthday parties, Easter parties, spring pictures, graduation, Girl Scout outings, soccer practice and games, field trips, Kindergarten registration, dr's appointments. Sigh. The best part is that I won't be in full training mode and will be able to make my workout time flexible with how their schedule runs or at least I hope because as I type this I am reminded that hubby is in the beginning of track season. Help me!?

~ My girl went to the dentist for a cleaning today. My kids have actually both been going to the dentist for cleanings since they were about 2-3 years old. We've never had to deal with cavaties or "dirty bugs," as the dentist calls them.... until today (yesterday depending on how you read this. lol). Despite our best efforts to get both kids to brush, which often leads to them being held down and Mommy or Daddy brushing for them, Annabelle has as teeny cavity. The dentist started telling her yesterday how they were going to take care of it. I finally had to glare at her with my Mom eye and she got the hint. We only have a month until the treaded filling appointment. And I am sure after it is over with Annabelle will willingly be taking better care of her teeth between cleanings...or at least we hope! 

~Peanut boy has a program at preschool next week. We need to have him dressed and he needs to wear a spring hat/cap. We have baseball caps of all kinds at the house and if he were a girl I would just stick a cute Easter bonnet on his pretty little head, but that isn't the case. So, I thought I would just whip one up real quick. ha! I actually told the hubby I was going to make a straw hat with Easter grass and some plastic eggs and even put a little chick of some sort on top. His smarty pants self said, "You're going to make a straw hat???" Der. NO! I am going to buy a straw hat and transform it, thankyouverymuchsir! So, is this a good idea for a 5 year old boy? Or do you have a better (and cheap!) option???

Meet Me on Monday

1. Crunchy or soft tacos?
I like crunchy but we usually have soft because we buy big packs of tortillas to use for other meals.
2. Do you scrapbook?
I use to all the time, but since having kids my hobbies and free time has changed quite a bit. My daughter's scrapbook is full up until about 18 months of age. My son's scrapbook holds one ultrasound pic and his hospital pic. Her's is a 12x12 and his an 8x8. I know, I'm not even going to wait on being handed the outstanding mother award this year. ;)
3. Do you take any daily medications?
Nope. I don't even like popping pills when I am sick and HAVE to. I am thankful for my good health!

4. What is your favorite sound?
My kids sleeping. ;)
Seriously though I am not sure I've even thought about having a favorite sound. I love to hear the birds chirping to tell me it is springtime. I love to hear the waves crashing when I am at the beach. I love hearing my kids laugh and play because it means they are getting along with each other.

My kids were up well before 5:30am this morning. Daddy got up a few times to give them a piece of his mind about why kids shouldn't be up at 5:30am on Sunday mornings and that NO ONE is allowed out of their rooms until 8am. When we both woke up around 8:15 we found the kids and the dog like this.

Blue Lightning

My Peanut boy started playing soccer this week! His first practice was Tuesday but I had to miss it because I had a Girl Scout meeting. Mamaw came through for us and took him to practice but remember how sad I was that I wouldn't have the proper pics?! Yeah, she got one with her phone but it wasn't that great. So, thankfully he had another practice on Thursday and I was able to take my big camera and get lots of good pics. I was really proud of my boy. It seems team sports may go a little better for him than they did his big sis. He introduced himself to his coach...alone! He followed directions and did everything the coach told him to! So proud!!!! :)

Anyway, my boy can kick that soccer ball! I can't wait to see his first game.
Oh and the most exciting part of Thursday's practice for him was when the coach was taking suggestions from the boys for the team's name. They were told on Tuesday to think about it and bring a name back on Thursday to share with the group. So, Peanut said he wanted me to write down Blue Lightning. The team color will be blue which means they will wear blue jerseys (tshirts) on game days.

When the team huddled together for the coach to ask their suggestions for a name I could see Peanut jumping up and down with his hand raised, saying, "Pick me, I got one!" He was so excited. When the coach called on him he said, "Blue lightning!" ALL the boys jumped up and down screaming, "YEAH!!!!" So, the coach continued to ask for names and then let the boys vote...

In the end there were more votes for Blue Lightning! My boy was super excited that they picked HIS name for the team. And of course I was (still am!!) one proud mama! :)


I took 50 bazillion pictures at practice but I'm going to spare you this time! Ha!! Be prepared for 50 bazillion more though as the season goes on. ;)

Three Things Thursday

1. Hi, hello and howdy!!! This may seem like a rather energetic greeting to you but I am in no way feeling energetic this morning. Truth is I'm afraid there isn't enough caffiene in my coffee to even make me feel slightly energetic today. It is my own fault. I have been staying up entirely too late here recently. Shame.on.me. This is not good for my body and definitely is not doing my mental health any good either. (that sounds like horrible grammar and if it is, sorry!)I promised myself on Monday night, after I stayed up too late and was exhausted the next day, that I wouldn't do that again. Ha! That's how it works though, right!? Anyway, I finished my book. I think I will wait until after my half marathon to start my new books though because I am worried the lack of sleep is going to catch up to me on race day.

2. I lost an auction on Ebay by $.50 and I am not thrilled. I put in a pretty high max bid considering the item and just knew I would win. I even increased my max bid before leaving work yesterday because I felt confident that no one would go over the amount! WRONG! I forgot about the auction last night and of course this morning got the email saying "Sorry you did not win this item." Bummer. But what made is worse was seeing that I only lost by $.50. Grrr. So, this now means that I will have to drag my almost 8 year old daughter out to shop. I'm a girl, she's a girl. Girls shopping together is usually fun. Moms/daughters shopping together has the potential to be fun...but (there is always a but) this trip will be something I have to psych myself up for.

3. Tuesday at school Annabelle lost a tooth. Her awesome teacher actually pulled it for her. I'm glad for teachers like her who take such an interest in their students (such as pulling teeth, I just can't do that!). Annabelle was thrilled and her teacher was just as happy to have helped! lol Anyway, Annabelle put her tooth under her pillow for bed. Mommy and Daddy went to bed a bit later. The next morning Annabelle woke up in tears, heart broken because the Tooth Fairy didn't come visit. And then I had the worst feeling ever. Mommy guilt. My girl cried and wondered why the TF would have missed her. She replayed her night to us, telling us she must have came while she was laying awake in bed and then she said, "I waited for you to come back and give me love, Mom and it took so long." Kinfe.to.the.heart! I failed my girl twice in one night. :( We did talk to her and told her that maybe there were just too many  kids for the TF to get to that night. I think I redeemed myself (or the TF did, rather) because Annabelle woke up to find $3 and a gold Presidential $1 coin in place of her tooth.

I just sneezed 14.5 times in a row. The half was the first sneeze that I attempted to stop. I was slightly successful. Welcome, spring pollen?? And I left my sudafed at home tucked safely inside my gym bag. Boo.

I stayed up too late last night reading a book. I haven't read a book in so long. Last year sometime I picked this book up because I had heard from other people that like the same author that it was a great book. I tried and tried and even tried some more to get into the book but after reading the same 3 chapters over and over I just could not get into it. But lately I really just wanted to read a book because (I hate admitting this) I spend entirely too much time on the computer! So, I picked the book up again for the umpteenth million time and it became a very easy read for me. So much so that I was up until 1 AM this morning reading. Gah. I vow to not do the same tonight. And because of where I am in the book right now I am glad that it took me this long to get into it because a few months ago and it just would have been bad bad bad.

It wouldn't be a Random Tuesday post if I didn't brag tell you how far the hubby and I ran this weekend.
TWELVE count them 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12....miles!!
I'm proud of us even though (for me) the run was not easy. I felt like I was running on lead legs. I'm glad this week (and next) are taper weeks. I want my legs as rested and ready to go on race day, which happens to now be 12 days away!

Peanut has his first soccer practice tonight. I am super excited for him because he is totally excited! The only downer is that I won't be able to go because I have Girl Scouts and hubby won't be able to go because he has a track meet. Thank goodness Mamaw can take him. And hopefully I can take pictures at his next practice (Thurs??) and just pretend it was the first. haha

Peanut funny:
Yesterday I pulled up at the bank to get some money from the ATM. He says to me, "How 'bout getting me a thousand while you're in there?" Sure thing kiddo! Not sure at all where kids come up with this stuff but I did assure him he was getting a thousand. I did ask what he thought he would spend that kind of money on. "A new toy," he tells me. My, my that would be some new toy!!!

We had a lunch outing at work today. I ordered a delicious salad (called Cranberry Chicken salad) with a side of basalmic vinegarette dressing. It was absolutely delicious and I love that I have. 1. dinner for tonight or 2. lunch for tomorrow. I am still undecided on that. Hubby gave me a hard time for not ordering one of our favorite steaks. lol He knows me better than that but he still said, "You went there and got a boring salad."

I love days like today. Lunch was late and long and by the time I get back to work I have 20 minutes or so to get a few things done before having to leave to pick Annabelle up from school. And by the time we get back to the office from picking her up at school we will only have a couple of hours until we get to leave. Yay!!

When I first started typing this I had more randoms in my head. I got busy with my work though and forgot about half my randoms. I bet you're glad for that since I already listed several. ha.

A pair of white gold diamond hoop earrings hubby bought me several years ago for Christmas.

Cut it. It bugs me to see people twirl because they usually end up stuffing entirely too much in their mouth!
3.  How many siblings do you have?
3 - 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters
4.  Were you named after anyone?
Yep. A great (not sure how many times) grandmother. Her name was Minnie Dwyer (from what I recall) and I got the name Dwyer. BUT they told her (before she passed) they were naming me after her and she begged them not to. If I remember correctly, she thought they were going to name me Minnie. I got the name "Minnie Haha" for a while. And I may be a tad off on the story because I was young when it was told.

Fun day with Daddy!

It's spring break week for hubby and the kids. Most of the week was spent at the house cleaning (the hubby) while the kids went behind him and messed things back up. Funny how that works, huh!? They also spent a great deal of time at the track for practice. I'm sure the 3 of them loved that part of the week the best. haha

Thursday was a gorgeous day here so Daddy took the kids to the park after track practice. He sent me the following pics and by the looks of them I think they all had a FUN time! I was quite jealous as I sat all day in my office with no windows.

3 Things Thursday

1. I'm totally jealous of hubby today. It is a beautiful day here in East Tn. After track practice he took the kiddos to the park to play and then tortured me with pictures of them. haha I'm kidding, honey. It wasn't really torture but it did make me totally jealous. I wanna go to the park and play!! Thank goodness I decided to take tomorrow off. We are suppose to have great weather again and I do believe our little family is going to play in the mountains for the day. And maybe I will remember to pack my camera!!

2. We don't really celebrate St. Patty's day. I do usually make sure the kids wear green to school but since it is Spring Break I didn't even buy new tees for this year. Luckily the hubby made sure they both wore green today even if they were just going to track practice. So sweet. I think we have done some kind of green/St. Patty's day craft too but again I failed in that department. I did consider letting them make something but assumed the gym childcare would likely have something fun and crafty..and green!!..for them to do tonight so I get a free pass right? I did text hubby last night and ask if he thought we should have some kind of green dessert. ha Yeah, maybe we should pass on that too. Wouldn't want to counteract my run tonight, huh!?

3. I wish I could braid my own hair. Random, yes. But I really do wish I could do double braids. Perhaps even double french braids but even when I try it is a mess and my arms fall asleep or go numb. I was thinking it would be cute (or maybe I would look like a big ol dork) if I wore double braids for my upcoming half marathon.  I've been thinking about trying to teach the hubby to do it. Think he'd be game?? haha

Randoms 'Round Here

~ It's raining..off and on... today in my city. And bits of lovely sunshine pop through the clouds once in a while (or at least they did when I was out to lunch). I'm sure there was a rainbow somewhere though I didn't see one.

~ How do you like Daylight Savings time? I'm not a fan. I am ready to fall back. Don't get me wrong, I do love the longer daylight hours at the end of the day but I have a hard time falling asleep at night which in turn makes it as hard to wake up on time in the morning. As a result, I missed my Monday morning BodyPump class. Boo.

~ It is spring break for hubby and the kids. I wish it were spring break for me too. We don't usually go anywhere for spring break but it is nice when we can all be home together. Though we wouldn't really be home together the entire week because hubby has track practice for part of the day. I keep imagining all the things I could be getting done at home. Closets and cabinets that need to be cleaned out and organized, craft projects I could do with the kids and a whole list of other things.

~ I just peeked at the calendar. 20 days til my first half marathon. And no I didn't really just realize that or maybe I did. Actually the reality of it being so close is beginning to hit me. I'm ready. Nervous, but ready.

~ Was anyone surprised by the Bachelor last night? I wasn't really. The Bachelor/Bachelorette has never picked the person *I* think they should or want them to anyway. I was surprised at the lack of emotion Emily seemed to show though. Not one little tear. Now, I may not be the one to be talking about lack of emotion when it comes to proposals because I'm sure my hubby wasn't expecting my reaction as much as Brad was probably hoping for a little more emotion from Emily, but seriously... she just kind of acted weird, to me. And now you are curious about my proposal, huh!? Well, my anniversary is coming up so maybe I will share that then.

~ I once had two bottles of tylenol on my desk at work and wouldn't you know the minute I go looking for it because I have a headache both bottles are gone!? Now, where would they have escaped to? I only have a slight headache so it's not a dire emergency I take a tylenol or two but it would be nice to have them to stave off what little headache I do have. oh well.

~  I bought my Easter dress Sunday when we were out at the mall killing time. I saw a dress hanging on a rack and it caught my eye. It was not a size I have bought in a dress before but...but.. I showed it to hubby and he asked if I was going to try it on. So, I said why not. It fit. I loved it. He loved it. And the kids did too. I bought it. I normally do not outfit myself for Easter before outfitting the kids so I am hoping I will be successful in finding coordinating Sunday attire for them both! The best thing about my dress is that it fit and I will NOT have to wear any gut sucking devices underneath. Woot!

~ Does anyone want to donate any clothing (or $$) to the "Girl lost weight and her closet is empty this spring/summer" fund? Maybe if I add one of those tacky $$ donation buttons in my sidebar? Hmm, yeah I was thinking you all might say no. Crap. Hubby says I need a 2nd job. Double crap. When do I have time for a 2nd job??? And what is with the cost of things these days? It isn't just gas prices people!

~ One of Belle's classmates lives a few houses up the street from us. One day on our way home I stopped by to let them know Annabelle had asked about playing so to just come by sometime when we are home and the girls can play. Hubby swears I told them they could just bring the little sweetie by "Anytime" to play because they've been over at least 5 of the last 7.5 days. No joke. It's all fine and good and the girls get along but my house is not always "company" ready. I hate that. We don't live like pig slobs but still I have a certain way I want the house to look before people come over, even if it is the little 8 yr old down the street. ha.

~ This morning went by fast. Yay! This afternoon is dragging on. Boo!

What's this thing?

Yeah this thing??
Oh, you mean I have a blog..yeah me!
I just noticed I had not posted anything here since Wednesday of last week. oopsie.
I have a good excuse or two.

~ Wednesday evening I ran 6 miles straight with no stopping. Perhaps I was still on a high from that.
~Thursday I had the day off from work. I started my morning in the torture chamber (aka Orthodontist). Then hubby, Peanut and I went to the gym. 2 of us worked out while one of us played. *I* did not play. ahem, thankyouverymuch. But I did run 3.1 miles in 31:30.
~Friday I worked all day and believe it or not I probably actually got some work done since I didn't blog. Then that evening I had a cookie booth from 6-8pm. Pretty sure I crashed almost as soon as I walked in the door at home.
~Saturday the hubby and I met a friend to run. They ran 10 miles. I ran 11 miles (are you sick of me talking about running?). Saturday evening we went to a birthday party.
~Sunday - no running! We went to church and then a kid's birthday party. By yesterday evening I think the whole time change thing zapped all 4 of us.

So, perhaps my reason for not blogging is my busy life which may not actually be that busy but I like to think it is. HA! It makes me feel accomplished (and somewhat overwhelmed) having so much to do and going on. Thankfully the whole Girl Scout cookie thing is coming to a close and that chapter of my busy life will be closed. It also means my troop can begin doing the fun things we love doing! And in a few short weeks my running becomes more fun because I will be running more out of wanting to rather than training, which makes it sound like I don't want to run now but really I do. It just means I won't be training for anything after my half marathon is over so running long on Saturday won't be something I HAVE to do but will want to do. That is my hope anyway....

Are you bored now with my hodge podge of useless info? Sorry about that. I will be posting some pictures of my cute kids soon. That'll give you something to look forward to or at least make you want to come back. ha I hope. Ok, go enjoy some pie folks because you can't celebrate Pi Day without the perfect piece of pie!!

We registered Peanut for soccer and bought him all the essential gear for his birthday. He is really excited to get to play. Aside from running summer youth track this will be his first time participating in sports. Prepare yourself for lots more pics of my little cutie!

Tuesday Randoms

~  I was going to blog yesterday but figured you would be bored hearing once again about my baby boy's 5th birthday. He had a party at a gym and I have the pictures to prove it. He seemed to have fun with his friends even though he was slightly grumpy.

~ Another reason I didn't blog was because I had the day off from work. Wanna know what all I did? So what, I am telling you anyway. And I'm telling you the times and deets. You'll thank me for this bit of info!
*5:30 am- up and dressed for the gym where I did a 10 minute warmup on the ARC trainer and 30+ mins of weights
* 7:00 am - home to help get kids out the door. Hubby had done most of this but I needed to get Peanut fed, showered and ready for preschool
* 8:30 am - dropped Peanut at preschool and headed to the bank to make a GS deposit. Then I went right to the park and ran 4 miles in 41 minutes. As a reward I hit up Starbucks for a Skinny Caramel Latte to sip while waiting in pickup line at preschool
*11:00 - 12:00 - pickup, dropped off GS cookies/ visited friend, took Peanut to shop and spend his bday money. Following shopping Peanut and I went to Chickfila for lunch. He had a giftcard, I had a coupon. Win win.
Then it was home where I showered, did laundry, dishes, and sat briefly before it was time to pick Annabelle up from school. When I got home I did more laundry, made a snack, sat briefly again before getting up to start dinner. And the doorbell rang. Surprise playdate with one of Annabelle's school friends who lives 5 houses down (that's an estimate, I really don't know how many houses down she lives). I finished cooking while the girls played. I begged hubby to come home from the gym because by 7:00 pm I was spent, my nerves was shot and I just wanted to SIT DOWN!

~ I enjoyed my day off as busy as it was and even make the comment (on Facebook no less) that I wish everyday could be like yesterday. It can't though and I am sure if it could be even remotely close it just wouldn't be as fun as it seemed yesterday was. Good news though, I get to repeat (in some sort of fashion) yesterday on Thursday because I get another day off. In my head I have the day planned but don't worry.... I am not going to tell you what all I have planned. I'm sure you are thankful for that. ;)

~ My hubby text me 12 minutes ago telling me I should get some blogging done.

~ I'm the only one at work today. Fun, huh. The phone has rang a total of 7 times, if that. I need to make copies of some claims and mail them. Sounds thrilling I know. Pandora is keeping me company. Right now it is a mix of P!nk and Rhianna. I like that Pandora lets me choose the version with bad words over clean. Call me bad if you want.

~ I've drank 48 ounces of water, 20 ounces of coffee and 6 ounces of Diet Mtn Dew today. For breakfast I had 1 slice of low cal wheat toast and one egg. I had a morning snack of half the pbj I packed for my son and half a grapefruit. Don't worry, Peanut WILL get lunch because his Mamaw took him somewhere to eat. I brought the pbj because I thought he would be with me all day. Couldn't have that pbj go to waste ya know. And I only ate half because I don't need the sugar/carbs filling up my day's worth of foods. Even though I have my day all planned out and logged and am still 900 calories short after my planned workout for the day.

~ Does anyone else get a headache from trying to figure out the whole calories in/out equation? Maybe it is just that I don't like math. Sigh.

~ Are you celebrating Mardi Gras? I'm not. Are you eating a king cake? What exactly is that anyway? Yes, I know it is something *I* don't need. Don't worry, I'm not going to pick one up for after dinner dessert. I've just seen lots of posts on FB about people eating king cake and crab something or other. The Emert household will be celebrating this Tuesday by having chicken thighs, yukon gold mashed and peas. Makes ya totally jealous about your dinner plans, huh!? haha What's for dessert you ask? Hmm. I'd love to hit up the cupcake shop for whatever their version of this king cake is but that is not happening so for the Emerts it'w whatever is left of the GS Cookies. And believe me, at least ONE of the Emerts will be asking what's for dessert before dinner dishes are cleaned up.

~ I bet my hubby is glad I finally posted this here little blog. ;)

~ I think the headache is not really related to trying to figure out math but a combo of the fluid that has been on my ear for a week now and those pesky Bradford pears being in bloom.

~ I painted my toenails last night for the first time since last year. Last June to be exact. That is also the last time I had a real pedicure. I went just days before we left for summer vaca to get a pedi with a friend. That was fun. My feet sure looked a lot different last summer than they do now. But at least my toenails are painted. Peanut picked the color. I should've let him paint them.. haha, or maybe not!

~ Ok. I'm going to get my lunch and eat. And if you must know, I am having egg salad and raw veggies for lunch. Exciting, right!?

Exciting 5!

My sweet baby boy turned 5 years old on Thursday. He spent the entire day with me! I feel so special. ;)
We were at my office "working" until around 1:00 pm and then I promised to take him to lunch at his favorite place. If any of you have read here long enough you will know his fave thing to eat is Chickfila. So, we hit the local mall and had lunch together. Let me tell you, my boy can eat. On special occasions I let him order for himself. When I do this he will big the "big" meal over a kids meal....
And he will eat the entire thing! He has a metabolism girls like me are totally jealous of!!!

After our little lunch date we headed over to Great American Cookie Co. and picked up this little delicious goodie...


I let Peanut pick out the colors since he was with me. He did a great job! I like the green and it is fitting for March! I even managed to find a super cute green "5" candle to put on it. :)

The one gift he asked for us to get him was his own Bible.  He only had two requests when it came to the Bible... pictures and his name on the front. It was a bit hard to find the perfect Bible that we could get his name on but we did have success getting the right one with pictures. And he was super excited to find all the red words. And if that doesn't make a parent feel good about how they are raising their kids then I don't know what will.

Turning 5 is a big milestone for my boy.
~ He now gets to join his big sis at the gym for all the fun stuff. Yoga, swimming, kid cardio.
We tried out the swimming on Thursday and he did ok, but fell off a kickboard and went under needing a lifeguard to rescue him. He wasn't startled and wanted to go back in but the instructor said we would try again. He is still really excited to "get to go upstairs" for yoga and dancing and such with his sis though and keeps asking to go to the gym!

~Peanut has been registered for soccer. This will be his first go at a sport (other than running youth track) and he is very excited! He has put all his soccer gear on a few times "just to see how it looks!"

~Kindergarten in the fall. How IS that possible?? I am really nervous. I'm not sure how he feels about it yet though. He is asking if he can move out of his 4 yr old clas to the 5 yr class at his preschool. I don't want him to have another year of preschool though, if we can avoid that. We are looking at just going ahead with kindergarten in the fall and praying for the best. The mama in me only worries on days when I drop him off and he is clingy.

I still can't believe 5 years have passed and my baby boy is now a little man. I can't wait to watch him as he continues to grow!

My big boy turns 5 today! I can hardly believe that this time 5 years ago I was in the recovery room following my c-section. It just doesn't seem like it has been that long. I've loved every minute so far of being this sweet little guy's mama. He has a heart of gold and I feel very blessed that he is in our lives.

Sunny and mild out today. Because I know you wondered. ;)

I am still knee deep (so it feels) in GS cookies. Delivering these puppies while also working and balancing life (home, kids, etc.) is hard work. I don't remember it being so busy this time last year but I may have slept some between then and now. ha

We (me, hubby, the kids) went out for my birthday dinner last night. We went to our fave little Asian joint and my original plan was to order sushi and my entree but they have SO many things on the menu that I love. I skipped the sushi and went for the steamed dumplings! Yummo. We actually had a variety of food on the table and came home with leftovers. I'm sure hubby and my girl gobbled their leftovers up for lunch today. The best part of dinner (besides being with my fam) was that we used a Groupon I got last month. Score!

We visited the nearest GiGi's Cupcakes for a post dinner birthday treat. If you have a shop near you get there...FAST!! ;) We visited for the first time last week to celebrate hubby's bday. I knew then that I wanted MY birthday cupcakes from there too. Last week we tried carrot, spumoni and birthday surprise. All three were tasty. Last night we each picked out our own cupcake. Hubby picked chocolate salted caramel (it was delish!). I picked coffee bean because you know I LOVE me some coffee. It was tasty but I could only take half of it at the time. Annabelle picked Miss Princess and she too only managed to get half of her cupcake eaten. Daddy "tasted" the rest. ;) Peanut picked strawberry shortcake and probably ate a bite. Peanut and I packed our leftovers to go. I ate the rest of mine while watching the Bachelor last night. haha

My birthday would not have been complete had I not spent an hour plus at the walk in clinic. Apparently I have lots of fluid on my left ear.. or is it in? Either way, it is annoying and I was told to use drops for pain and take sudafed after signing my life away to get the stuff thanks to meth heads. Anyway, today the pain is still there but I am hopeful the little red pills dry it up because I do NOT have time for it to develop into the same junk it did in January. 

Hubby and I ran the 10 mile loop at Cades Cove this past Saturday. If you are from here you will completely understand when I say it was an amazing run, even if you don't run. However, it is quite different on foot than by car. Did you know there are hills around these parts? lol Thank you to my amazing hubby for even agreeing to running 10 miles with me. I love our crazy life! 

We are signing the Peanut boy up for soccer as part of his birthday present. He turns 5 on Thursday. It's a little bitter sweet for me but I will wait to talk about that later. I'm not ready to face it just yet. Anyway, soccer... he has not played a single sport yet. I feel slightly bad for that because we always said he was too little or Annabelle was involved in something or we just had too stinkin' much going on. Excuses. No more though! I can't wait to finally watch my little boy run around a field kicking a ball. 

I started typing this post very early today. It is now a quarter to ten and I remembered I started it. I have been buried in Girl Scout cookies the majority of my day. This GS cookie thing is like a part time job for about a month or so. I'm not complaining at all though! My girls have met their goal and then some and that makes me proud! And if you are local and didn't get any cookies or want extras... let me know! I will be glad to hook you up.

Last week I had 2 days off work. I accomplished A LOT around my house in those two days. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that my house is pretty much spotless for the first time in like forever with the exception of the massive mounds of clothes in my own bedroom. We have SO many clothes we barely have room for them. You would think we would get rid of stuff. We HAVE and still have more than we know what to do with. That is going to change soon. Anyway, I am just glad that I have been able to at least pick up and keep things presentable as well as I have given my super busy week. Annabelle's room is the project I am most proud of this week. I wonder how long it will be until there is tons of unnecessary junk under her bed?

I promised hubby I wouldn't stay up all night tonight. But I didn't plan on drinking an entire 20 oz bottle of Diet Mt. Dew at 9 pm either. Ooops.
