Friday's should be fun.

Prepare for negativity.

I am grumpy.
Work is stressing me.
I had a horrible breakfast (read - too many calories).
And yesterday, I pulled my left hamstring while doing what I love most *running* and even sitting here at my desk is painful.
The Coach has a track meet (away) tonight. I hate away track meets. It pretty much means we won't see him until late. However, he does want us to pick him up from the track meet so basically just scratch the part about us not seeing him until late. ha!
Oh, I registered my baby boy for Kindergarten today. *sniff*

Positives?
The only thing we (as a family) HAVE to do this weekend is go to Peanut's soccer game, go to church and buy groceries for the week. :)
My awesome hubby did some great things around the house yesterday while he and the kids were off from school (due to the storms the night before). Thank you for that!
Music can lighten my mood a bit.
I did NOT eat the cupcake I wish I had this afternoon (yet).
One more hour until my weekend starts!!

Wordless Wednesday

I feel the love. ;)

Tuesday Randoms

~Did you think Tuesday would pass without Kimert's Weather report??
Today was sunny for the most part which was nice after some crazy storms last night. I say crazy because I was out running, while the sky was a lovely shade of blackish purple. It was thundering but I was quickly chased indoors by some wild strikes of lightning. FUN! Or not...

~I'm having issues. Not really the mental kind but the tough, what on earth do I do as a mama to a girl kind.
We were watching tv on Sunday and I suppose there was a NutriSystem commercial on but I only caught the end of it because Annabelle said, "I want to try that." Eeek. Crap. No, Annabelle you do not need that. You are a beautiful growing young girl and that stuff is not good for you. Exactly why do you want to try that?  "Because I want to wear a bikini like all my cousins."  Bikinis aren't all they're cracked up to be and besides if you go out in the sun in a bikini you would be as red as a lobster and turn to a big freckle a few days later. I thought that would pacify her for the time being and then....

~Tonight Annabelle says, "All my friends were a small or a medium and I have to wear a 14." So, the size in our clothes don't say  much about who we are as people.  Maybe that will work for a while.  We did discuss healthy food options and being active. Healthy food choices and being active are totally normal in our house.  I mean both kids watched Daddy AND Mommy train and run a half marathon...13.1 miles!! We are still active even weeks after the race. Sigh. It'll be ok.

~Just don't tell my girl that over did it today with the chocolate I picked up in a quick trip to Kroger yesterday. 5 nestle eggs. Oops. But but... I did go to spin class this morning and rode that tiny seat at a swift pace for a total of 16.02 miles in 45 minutes. It's hard figuring out the whole calories in/out thing. I hate math anyway.

~Annabelle thinks Bristol sounds like a weird name. That's just ONE of her observations from Dancing with the Stars tonight. Thank goodness it's almost bedtime. I might get to watch something without my little critic chiming in every 2.3 seconds!

~How do you feel about weddings? I happen to love them. My dream job would be to be a wedding planner/coordinator, I think. I mean I could handle a bridezilla I think. I loved my wedding but looking back there are things I would change or do differently. I heard there is going to be some kind of royal wedding coming up this week. I'm pretty sure I saw the details on Disney Jr. Weird. ;)

~I haven't talked much about Peanut and soccer. He seems to be having fun. At least when I ask him (which was just now) he says it's fun. He wants to play baseball too. I think part of the issue with soccer practice is that he has gotten up early, gone to school and then spent the rest of the day (prior to 5:30pm practice) playing outside with Papaw or his cousins. I'm pretty sure he is almost zonked by the middle of practice. It shows, too. He sits on the field, watches the ball roll right past him and walks around like a little lost puppy. It's humerous a little. Games are totally different. I think he gets excited about them because everyone is cheering. Too bad he only played ONE quarter of the last game. We are hoping this week will be a bit different.

~We were all dressed up nicely Sunday. I wanted ONE lovely picture of the whole family (all 4 of us) and one each of my kids. I didn't get a single decent family pic of us all looking forward and smiling or any pictures of the kids. I was (and still am) really bummed. I'm thinking we will do a retake.

Three Things Thursday

1. First off, I am THANKFUL it is Thursday. For me it is actually Friday and this week it could not have come quick enough. I am now in countdown until 5pm! Just 3 hours and 45 more minutes to go. Please, come quick. It's been a busy, stressful, and not so fun week for me. Work related. But I will survive.

2. Easter is Sunday and the bunny needs to shop. I think I mentioned this before. I have not picked up the first thing. This is the first year that I have not been prepared at least a week in advance. I will now be the mom that buys whatever junk is left on the "seasonal" isle at the local Walmart because once again procrastination (aka my busy life) has once again taken over. But never fear... I will get to that before Saturday night. I think. At least everyone has church clothes, I think... oy.

3. I took my baby boy for his 5 year well check yesterday. He is in the 75-90% percentile. Once upon a time they use to tell me the exact percent but now it's just a range. I can deal with that  because I really hate those numbers anyway. He got his booster shots. 3 that were a combination of whatever all they give at 5 years old. I did pay attention when the ped was telling me what all they were but today I cannot remember. Anyway, the biggest thing is that my little Peanut boy kind of giggled into a slight whimper while he was getting them. I was SO proud of him for being such a big boy. However, as I sat there looking at him I quickly realized that he really is NOT a little boy anymore. :( Sadness. When did my kids grow up!?!?!?

Tuesday Randoms

~I am NOT mia...really.  I am just under a great deal of stress and as a result I have very little time to blog. And if I am lucky I will get this post up before midnight and it becomes Wednesday. YES, that is how busy I have been. And the stress is ridiculous. I'm not sure I know anyone that likes stress but I am certain that it does indeed kill. I'm not ready to die. ;)

~Sunday is Easter. I am a bit unprepared. Do you do the Easter bunny thing? Sweet Belle asked recently if the Easter Bunny was real. I hate being asked that. I am not a huge fan of the EB because I'd rather my kids know the true reason we celebrate Easter and just don't even care if my kids KNOW that the EB is not real. Seriously, it doesn't bother me. I know I sound like a bad mom saying that because then that leads to the whole Santa thing and why ruin the magic? Well, there are much bigger reasons for celebrating Easter and Christmas and those are what I want my kids to celebrate. JESUS IS the reason and I will take that and my salvation over any colored eggs any old day. I hope my kids feel the same way one of these days.

~I had my annual girly doctor's appointment today. You know you all (women) enjoy that appointment. HA! I would rather go to the dentist once a week than be fondled in my girly bits once a year like that. Seriously. Sure, that may sound crude but it's the truth. The best part of my appointment today was my doctor walking in and asking where I have wasted away to over the last year. Turns out I have lost 30 lbs since last year's exam. :) I am pretty proud, thank you very much! I did ask her if she could give me a quick fix to get the last 20 (26 actually) lbs off because apparently I have the maintaining thing down but the losing thing is at a standstill. Bummer. She told me she didn't have any ideas other than proper (healthy) diet and exercise and since I am already successful with that then she doesn't see any other way she can really help me. Again I say, bummer.  Yeah, yeah... I will take my loss of 70 lbs in the last 2 years and the fact that I just ran a half marathon (2 weeks ago) and be proud.  But does it hurt to want more?? ;)

~Tomorrow I will be taking my Peanut boy for his 5 year well checkup at the pediatrician's office. This means booster shots (do they even call them that anymore) so that he can be all ready and set to go to Kindergarten. Sniff sniff. Where did the time go? Anyway, I already told my boy he will be going to get shots at the dr's office. He seems ok with this and told several people at soccer tonight that he was going to get some shots tomorrow. That means he will be fine, huh!? It may have helped that I also promised him a trip to Chickfila after the dr's appointment. If you have read here long enough you will know my boy LOVES LOVES LOVES (a million times LOVES) Chickfila more than anything in this world, except for maybe his mama. I have quite the fun afternoon planned! ha

~Did you know girly drama starts in elementary school? And no I do not mean 5th grade. It's pretty bad even in 2nd grade. My girl is having her own set of issues with friends. HATE it. I hate that some girls are followers and easily influenced by the "bully" type. And I hate that my girl has a broken heart after "losing" her bff to a new girl. The new girl which the teacher instructed Annabelle to "be extra nice to because she's had a rough life." Grrrr. Life is so hard and not just for us old folks. Little kids have it hard these days.

~Pinnochio is going back into the Disney Vault soon. I hate that vault.

Meet Me on Monday

Because I have slacked in blogging lately I decided to link up with Java for Meet Me on Monday.  Here are this week's questions and my answers. Be sure to head over to Never Growing Old and join in the fun.

1. Caesar Salad or Garden Salad?
Depends on if it is coming before an entree. I like both but usually go with the garden salad.

2. Will you be watching the Royal Wedding on April 29th?
Probably not live because I will likely be at work or sleeping or running. What time is it even coming on? If I think about it I will set the dvr to watch the highlights later. Although I am sure I will catch enough of it on the news.

3. Last thing you spent lots of money on?
Groceries or Easter clothes for the family.

4. Window seat or aisle seat?
Ha! I don't fly or ride the bus usually...
So driver's seat??

5. Do you know your blood type?
Not off the top of my head but I do have one of those cards from my ob/gyn where I had to get Rhogam (I think that's how you spell it) shots when pregnant because of my blood type and that whole Rh negative thing....anyone familiar? It's been too long and mom brain has me forgetting. My blood type is printed on the card.

I'm a blogger.

But you may not know that due to my lack of posting lately.
I have no words half the time and when I do have words I have zero time to type them.
Or it could be that I have another blog devoted to my weight loss/healthy stuff/workout/running life and on days I find time to blog there I seem to not have a ton of time to blog here.

And honestly, do you really want to hear about soccer practice, 2nd grade girl drama, how my house is still a horrible mess, and what happens when my 5 year old pulls a tampon out of my purse and my 7 year old tries to explain? It's all the same ol' same ol' and can be a bit boring. Well, except maybe that last part, but really.  There are some stories that are better left untold, right.

Today should be a Wordless Wednesday post but my picture taking has been minimal lately. We have done a few fun family things... trip to Dollywood, but I don't see fit to carry the massive camera and it's large lenses to a place where I will be riding crazy, wild roller coasters. Then there was the preschool program but the stage is so far away that even my massive lense doesn't capture a great picture because I can't figure out the lighting and flash ordeal.  Bascially all photo taking lately has been done on Daddy's iPhone, which ends up being pretty decent as far as picture quality goes. Maybe I will take time to at least share DW photos!

But for now, know that I am at least reading your blogs and commenting when I can. And when I come up with some good bloggy topics I will get back to regular posting. :)

Triple T

1. It's book fair week at Belle's school. I have a love/hate relationship with book fairs. I love books. I love that my kids love books. I think it is a great way for schools to earn books for the library and teacher's to get books for the classroom. I hate that book fairs don't ONLY just sell books. I hate junky toys, pencils, erasers, posters, etc. There is NO need for such items at a bookfair. If they want to have items that even little Joe can buy because he is less fortunate, fine. Sell a cheaper book but please for the love of all man kind quit brining stuffed animals and such to your book fairs!!!!!  Anyway, I sent my girl to school with a blank check and a letter to the teacher/librarian stating that Annabelle knows she could not go over $15 OR buy any junk toys. I am SO mean, I know but hello they don't call it a bookfair for nuttin'!! So, I am proud to say that my girl got 3 books and I wasn't the least bit upset that she got a necklace since the books it came with were on/above her reading level and she was $2 under budget.

2. I trained and ran a half marathon (13.1 miles) in only 11 weeks. You, too, can move mountains. All ya gotta do is try. Wanna read all about MY experience?? Check it out HERE!!!  I am still over the moon excited and pretty dang proud of myself (and hubby). Fearless!

3. The kids were invited to a ton of bday parties this weekend. I'm awful. We haven't had a weekend yet to go get our pics taken for our Dollywood passes. So, I asked one of the kids this morning if they'd rather go to the bday parties or go to DW. One kid has already said DW. Think the other will???

Tuesday Randoms

~ It's sunny today, but cool and windy. We had storms yesterday but thankfully no tornado action closeby. I think other parts of TN were hit hard though. I'm ready for normal spring like weather...minus the storms. Bring on the warmth and sunshine for good!!

~ In case you had not heard, the hubby and I ran a half marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday. It was pretty much awesome. The weather was great, the race course was much easier (while still a challenge) than we thought it would be and my body was totally in tune with what I was doing. I'm still over the moon proud of myself (and the hubby) and can't wait to do that again!! YES, I said again. We are looking into other half marathons to run and hubby has completely gone crazy saying we should do a full marathon at some point. He is off his rocker!

~ I'm sleepy today. I feel like I rested well last night but I suppose I went to bed a bit later than I should have. And it could aslo have something to do with my sporadic eating and the fact that my diet has been heavy on the carbs. Must change that pronto!!

~ Do you watch Dancing with the Stars? Hubby set the DVR for me last night because we were gone while it was on. I watched it when we got home. Poor Kirstie Alley. I just knew her fall was going to be in the 'bloids today. I haven't seen it yet but I wonder if it will show up with a whole ton of fat jokes. Poor girl. I don't know the name of the guy dancing with her because I am just not that good but it looked like his hip gave out. He said it was his knee. Still I feel horrible for him and her. They kicked butt the remainder of their dance though.

~ I am really ready for summer vacation. I can't wait to hit the beach. We only take one vaca a year as a family...not that we take vaca seperately any other time of the year. ha  I am just so so so ready to get away form everything even if does mean being holed up at the beach in a pretty resort with my hubby and crazy kids! LOL I can't wait to hear the waves crash, feel the sand between my toes (even as ugly as my toes are from all the running!!) and soak up some sunshine (yes, too much can be bad for your skin, but I promise to use sunscreen). 75 more days!!!!

~ I wish they would post race photos already. I want to see how goofy I looked crossing the finish line.

I ran a half marathon!

April Fool's Day

Miss Annabelle is a hard sleeper and typically wakes up a grumpy grouch in the mornings (I have no clue which parent she gets this from), so Daddy thought he would be all funny and play a AFD trick on her. He went back to her room after 2 failed attempts at getting her up and shouted, "Annabelle, hurry you gotta see the sky this morning. It's purple!!!"  It did indeed get her outta bed and to the front door pretty fast.

thank you tinypic.com

Imagine her disappointment when she ran out the front door to discover Daddy was wrong. "April Fools," he said. She was not ammused but she did try the same trick on her less than thrilled little brother when he woke up. He wasn't buyin' though.

And in case you haven't heard, over half the people you know on Facebook are....

April Fools!?
