First of all, let me say, I know what you guys are thinking!
"Two crafty blogs in one week, this woman's on a roll!" Ha ha I know, right!?!
I actually have a third one but since I actually stole that one from another blogger I decided to skip really doing a whole blog devoted to it, so instead I give you our Flubber experience (or at least part of it!).
There wasn't a whole lot to making this but I didn't really get the kids to help. They weren't that interested anyway and really only wanted to play with the finished product. I'm not sure there is really anything a small child could do to help make it but the bigger kids might find it interesting. I don't really know! lol
I have to give props once again to Family Fun. I printed the instructions and list of ingredients there.
It has become my favorite site for fun crafty ideas to do with or for the kids.
So, here is what you need:
-2 mixing bowls
-measuring spoons and cups
-Glue
-Borax
-Green food coloring
-water
-plastic zipper baggies
And here is what you do:
1. Mix together 3/4 cup warm water, 1 cup glue and food coloring (as much as you like) in one bowl.
2. In the other bowl, mix together 4 teaspoons borax and 1 1/3 cups warm water.
3. Pour the contents of the first bowl into the second, but don't stir. Let it sit for 1 minute, then lift the
congealed slime out of the bowl. This is the icky part for me!!
4.Now just divide it between your little monsters and put in zipper baggies!
Let me say that the slime was a little wet when I put it in baggies but I soaked up the extra moisture with a paper towel. The slime or flubber did stick to the paper towel a little bit because of the glue so just be careful how long you leave the paper towel there.
Also, Borax is toxic so be careful with the little ones.
I failed to get pictures of my two playing with it but let me tell you they have enjoyed it! And you can really use any color food coloring that you chose! One of my kids wanted pink and the other blue but since the directions makes such a big batch I decided to go with the suggested green.
OH and another tip! Don't be a doofus like I was and read CAP instead of CUP on the glue. ;) I will save the silly details of that little mishap!
Now go have fun!!!
