Tuesday Randoms...again!?
~ I skipped writing vacation blogs for Friday and Saturday. I haven't even blogged about my sweet girl turning 8. And the new puppy? And someone in our house has lost TWO teeth this week. I have pictures of everythign. Seriously! I am way the heck behind. And even all the posts I put up about vacation were pretty much done in one day. I also waited until the last minute to put them up. You already knew I was a slacker.
~ I have been sucked into the whole Casey Anthony murder trial. I haven't watched a lot of it but have spent a great deal of time listening to it online while I work. I think this is one reason I am so exhausted by the end of the day. I cannot imagine what those poor jurors are going through. A lot of the testimony is just flat out ridiculous.
~ NO, we are NOT watching G.I. Joes. Not on the big tv and not on my computer. That's that.
~ I should be out running hill repeats or a few miles or moving my body somehow. Instead I came home after work, because I was tired, and had dinner. Since dinner I've been in my chair trying hard to keep my eyes open. I see an early bedtime tonight. We are running a race on July 4th. You would think that would be my motivation to get up off my butt. Not.so. much. Tomorrow though.
~ I really wish I was still on vacation. I'd like an endless vacation. If I won the lottery I could make that happen. I don't play the lottery.
~ I love the show The Voice. I might have mentioned that here before.
~ The Frosty the Snowman hat that sits atop my Christmas tree is still sitting on top of our big tv. Funny how I haven't really noticed it until just now. We should put that away. Of course if we ignore it much longer we might blink and it will be the holidays again. So, perhaps we will just leave it where it sits a few more months. haha

3 Things Thursday - vacation edition!
1. We spent Thursday morning at the pool. The kids played, mommy tanned and Daddy hung out either in the pool or out, but mostly just trying to stay cool -- or at least act cool! ;)
2. Thursday afternoon we hit up Sea Pines so the kids could take part in some fun at the Salty Dog! They tie dyed tshirts there on the dock and we had lunch at The Wreck of Salty Dog. Peanut enjoyed some hush puppies! Annabelle had fun playing tic tac toe with Daddy. And mommy got too full on her shrimp po boy! ;)
3. After lunch we decided to go check out the Lighthouse. Peanut wanted so badly to climb to the top. It was so hot while we were there. And of course there is no AC inside on the climb up. I believe there were only 105 stairs to climb but I was a sweaty mess by the time we reached the top. There was a nice breeze up on the top deck though.

Tuesday Randoms
~ I had a fantastic time in Nashville over the weekend. We had a mini photo shoot with a dear friend that is a photographer. She did an amazing job! If you are friends with me on FB you may have seen them. I love them! We also walked all over Nashville checking out all the hot spots. We had a great time. Proof of the fun in pictures coming soon!
~ We are having a great time at the beach (minus one hiccup at the pool with a certain little girl this morning).I was beginning to wonder if it was a full moon with her crazy antics earlier. Thankfully (or should i say hopefully??) we are over all that and this evening will be peaches and cream. We are inside taking a break before showers and getting dressed to go out shopping and to dinner! The Emert family wouldn't have a complete vacation if we didn't go shopping! haha
~ Do you play Words with Friends?? Totally fun. Just like Scrabble but you can have so many games with your friends. It kept me company on the long drive. I got antsy though when none of my friends had made their move. Only problem is that I pretty much suck at it. I usually am pretty good at Scrabble. hmm.
~ I'm missing time in the sun right now. That shouldn't bother me since the dr office called earlier to tell me my Vitamin D levels were pefectly normal after my bloodwork last week. It does bother me though because I'm still workin' on the perfect summer tan. haha Hubby says my tan doesn't need much work. He has blinders on. ;)
~ Why is it that 99% of the time my butt hits the seat someone wants to sit right on top of me?
~ Can you believe I came to the beach without painting my toenails? I should go pay $9 a bottle at Del Sol just for fun.

3 Things Thursday
1. Vacation officially starts in 8 hours. I am still not packed. What did you expect a procrastinator to be ready days in advance? Um, last year I was. Shoot. Tonight we drop the kids off at Mamaw and Papaw's house so that will give me some free time (which means no fights to break up, no "I need this..," etc) to get us all packed. I do have a lot of things ready in a laundry basket but that is as far as I have gotten. And yes, I realize that is not very far. First I have to get hubby and I ready for our little overnight trip to Nashville to visit friends. I think I can get the stuff ready for that pretty quickly. I hate that I put things off. Last year I had a goal to pack us all in one suitcase. I was successful. I think I can do that again. Thank goodness the resort provides washer/dryers in each unit. Yes, I do laundry while on vacation.
2. McDonald's has tasty oatmeal. This is huge. I say that because I do NOT eat oatmeal (unless you count the 3 times I have stopped at McD's in the morning on my way to work this week..lol). I'm sure it is not the healthies of options for oatmeal but for me and a busy week it is just fine. The maple oatmeal, apples, cranberries and golden raisins all mixed together. yummmmmmm.
3. When I take my retainers out in the morning my teeth feel absolutely gross. I brush and floss my teeth at night before putting them back in. I even clean my retainers. Tuesday Randoms
~ I'm thisclose to vacation. I am not packed. I still have a little shopping I need to do (sorry honey) or maybe it's just that I would like to do some shopping...new shoes, anyone!? This time last year I had us all packed and was even bragging that we were all packed in ONE suitcase for a whole week at the beach. I rock, yes. It's a different story this year. I don't even know what we are wearing! ha It'll get done.
~ I had a physical yesterday. It was the first time I had been to my regular doctor in 3 years. ha! I figured that I should go and get reaquainted in case something were to come up. This past winter I had bronchitis and just went to the walk in clinic. I am not a fan of that. And I thought with my dad's cancer diagnosis last year I should at least stay on the up and up with myself. Well, I have had a small issue when running that I thought was worth mentioning to the dr, and hubby has been after me to do so too. Well, I mentioned it and not 10 minutes later I was being told to undress and getting hooked up to an EKG machine. Suhweeet! lol Not. Turns out that was ok, but tomorrow I have to go for further testing. That means I get a lovely poke in the arm and blood drawn. I hate that. I hate needles.
~ Not only do I hate needles but I hate fasting. Seems when you are fasting for a blood test your body is more hungry than ever. Weird.
~ Annabelle got a new haircut today. I should have been a good mom and taken pics to share. I didn't though. She's cute. Her hair was just past her shoulders but she wanted it cut like Alyssa. What?? YOu mean you don't know who Alyssa is? ha My hair stylist didn't either so it is a good thing I text her before Annabelle and Daddy showed up at the salon. Turns out Alyssa has an inverted bob so the stylist knew exactly what to do when Annabelle said, "My mom may have mentioned that I want my hair stacked in the back.." um, yeah. So Annabelle got a cute inverted bob. She loves it!
~ I think the singers on The Voice are so much better than those on American Idol. Seriously, if you haven't watched The Voice you should!
~The cicadas are gone. Exciting! We have peace and quiet in our little neck of the woods again.

Man soap
I was getting ready for work one day when my little Peanut boy hopped in the shower. He likes to shower when he first wakes up. I don't blame him at all. I like to start my day off with a nice warm shower.
As I am running the flat iron through my hair he pops his little head out from behind the shower curtain and says,
"Hey, mom, can you pass me that man soap over on the counter??"
Apparently my boy would rather use the Irish Spring body wash his daddy's uses rather than the fruity body wash I use. What can I say..he is all boy! Or should I say man??

Tuesday Randoms....I am not M.I.A!
~ I swear to you guys I am going to be a good little (I wanna be little..) blogger. I promise to not go days and weeks without posting. I've just been so crazy busy and by the time I sit down at night I start reading blogs then Blogger acts all mean to me and won't let me comment. That leads to me feeling guilty because I feel like if I blog and you comment then I am being a horrible blogger by not being able to return the comment. That's about as clear as mud, huh? Anyway, I am reading your blogs.
~It's so flippin' hot here in E. TN. I say that as I sit at my desk with my heater going. Makes total sense. I freeze inside but the minute I step outside...holy sweaty pits batman!!! I am a mess. Don't get me wrong, I like sweating but I prefer to be wearing proper sweating attire and having a good reason for sweating. Walking to the car to head to a dr's appointment is not the time/place to begin sweating buckets.
~I got my braces off last week...
I am loving my new smile/teeth. BUT BUT today... oh my stars.. PAIN!!! I got my retainers. My orthodontist does the invisiline (??) style retainers.. good heavens to betsy. My mouth hurts! I have to wear them 24 hours a day except when eating or brushing my teeth (duh!!). So, I took them out to snack earlier, put them back and seriously y'all.. I cried! Ouch ouch ouch. I took them out for lunch and guess where they are now sitting? In the container. I am soooo dreading putting them back in. I know I sound like a big ol' baby. :(
~Sunday I was at TJ Maxx doing a little shopping with the family. While waiting on Miss Belle (who was in the potty) I was just outside looking through the baby section. My innards (yes, I said innards) ached thinking about how tiny the clothes were and how sweet a new baby would be. When she came out I told her it be fun to have a new baby. She asked how we would do that and I just laughed and said, "Well, we probably won't but let's tell Daddy we should have another!" She told him. haha And of course Daddy and I were talking about it later that night. He was not on board. Thank goodness because that little achy feeling in my innards only lasted a millisecond. I was over it by Monday morning. :)
~ 10 days until we leave for vacation! TEN DAYS!! First hubby and I will be spending a night away (alone..yippee!!!) and hanging with some friends. I cannot wait! We haven't gone anywhere overnight alone in years...YEARS! It'll be fun. But I am also looking forward to meeting friends. Then it's off to the beach for a week. Wahooo!

Let me tell you..those girls got huge balloon boquets and little bags of "forbidden" goodies (i.e. tootsie rolls, blow pops, gum...etc) and I got a thumbs up and "Looks great!" I am still bitter. Seriously. $6500 out of my pocket for this flashy smile and I am not given the same parting gift as those young pups!? What's up with that?? Never fear though.. I have friends who cared enough (or maybe they got tired of my complaining!! haha) that sent me my own little goodie bag full of "forbidden" candy and even went so far as to draw balloons for me on the package. Score!!

3 Things Thursday
1. It's hot outside. It's very sunny too. I sure wish I was lounging in a float on the water of a crystal clear pool. Wouldn't that be sweet!? OH How I cannot wait until our beach vacation later in the month. I'm so excited that I may just start packing early! haha Just kidding! I don't have enough clothes to wear to begin packing now. I'm pretty sure my kids don't either.
2. We are having a garage sale this weekend. Guess who is not prepared?? Yep, me. I need to tag all thejunk super awesome stuff we are selling that my loving hubby gathered up this week. I guess I will be pricing/marking stuff tonight. Sounds fun I know. You're totally jealous! ;)
3. I am a huge fan of long weekends and short work weeks. Wouldn't it be great if every week was set up that way? I'm sure I would eventually find a reason to complain about it at some point. Case in point, today has been a super long day!
