Wordless Wednesday - Save for the high school yearbook??

hahahahaha
Because we all need a good laugh. I like to think that one day my beloved Annabelle will, too! ;)

Newsflash... I'm the baddest Mama ever

Not bad like this....

Although my kids do like to rock to MJ once in a while. No, no. Bad like this....

Seriously, my sweet boy told me this morning, "You are the baddest mama ever and you're going to jail."

Yes, that sweet little goof there said that to me!!You see, this morning he got upset with me over something silly. He had a Sharpie and was coloring at the kitchen table with it. He was already dressed nicely for school. And well you know kids and writing devices of any kind. It isn't always good (or maybe it's just the case with my kids!!!). Anyway, he tried looking all sweet like at me and saying, "Daddy said to just be careful."  Seriously, because your Daddy isn't even here right now! And well, Peanut wasn't that careful because he DID get the dark blue Sharpie on his nice, new shirt that Grammy got him for Christmas and well, honestly, Mama was a bit upset. To my defense though, all I did was take the Sharpie away and toss it in a basket high upon the fridge and I walked away. That's not so bad, right?! Oh well, I may need one of those Get Out of Jail Free cards later.

Do you know P-Dub?

If you don't already know her or have never heard of her, I urge you to check out The Pioneer Woman asap! I've been reading her blog for something like 2 years or maybe longer. It is great. Funny, witty, informative, creative. You name it and P-Dub has it on her blog.
And for you food lovers (like myself) the best part of PW would be Pioneer Woman Cooks!
Did you know she has a fabulous cookbook out, too?
Well, I happened to get a little help from a dear friend in getting my hands on an autographed copy for Big Daddy J at Christmas. It made a great gift especially since PDub herself personalized it for my sweet hubby. Her message inside said, "Big Daddy J, Cook it up. Love, PDub"
Awesome, huh!? ;)

Well, look here at just what Big Daddy J cooked up for a NYE get together. Yum yum!
These are PW's Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Thingies (and yes, that is what she calls them)!
They are SOOOOO good and were a huge hit with everyone!

And since the last major football game of the season is just right around the corner I think you should add this recipe to your Super Bowl Party menu!!
Just be sure to also add rubber/latex gloves to your shopping list. ;)

Has it been almost a week, really!?!?

Since my last post here?
Yikes!

Every time I say I am going to do better about posting I seem to let a week go by! So, sorry.

I'm not feeling very creative lately. I think that is due in part to the amount of work piled up on my desk! And believe me it is piled (nearly to my nose!!!). ;)  Thank goodness for job security, huh!?

We've been busy with basketball - practices and games, Girl Scouts - it's Cookie Time!! And we even got to see our fave Nabors this weekend as they were in town for the anniversary. I've got pictures to post but keep forgetting to bring my camera to work.

Speaking of my camera, I promised ManicMother that I would join in the whole Blogography (did I get that right?? prob. not) tutorials she has been posting and learn my camera. I have yet to do so.

I'm sensing a little pattern in a lot of what I post which leads me to this photo I saw the other day on another blog (forgive me for committing this crime, but I can't remember the blog I snatched it from).

Yep, that's me!
Queen Procrastinator

So, to those of you still following me THANKS! And if you are following me AND still reading here, double THANKS. I promise to get back to regular posting soon! :)

Why grocery store clerks should mind their own business...

So, I'm at Kroger on my lunch break picking up my lunch of course and while checking out the bagger says, "This has got to be the most random order I have ever bagged."

Now, I am sure you are thinking, "What on Earth did she buy that would make him say that?"

Well, let me share...
1 can Progresso Light Zesty Mexican Chicken soup
1 navel orange
1 20 oz bottle Diet Dr. Pepper
1 York Peppermint patty

Random? Let me explain my choices.
The soup, while not the best choice for lunch with the sodium content and all, is still only 80 calories per serving and I did cut the sodium content a little by draining the "juice" and only using about half (if that) of it with the remaining conents.
The orange, I am trying to get at least 2 fruit servings per day and I thought the orange was a good choice to complete my lunch.
The Diet Dr. Pepper, my drink of choice after I have had all of my water for the day and it pairs nicely with the York Peppermint Patty, which is my chocolate fix for the day. I will likely half the YPP to not go over on calories and all for the day, but I am not even remotely worried about that considering my other food choices today.

Random?

No, buddy, random would have been me throwing a box of condoms or pack of maxi pads in the mix. Now THAT would be random.

So, I'm a day late and dollar short but I did start this post yesterday!
I just never got past the title! ha ha

I've been busy at work.
I've been busy at home. Of course, my hubby might say I've been busy keeping my chair warm mostly. lol
You can relate, right!? Well, you can relate to the being busy part. ;)

Yesterday at work I came in to find fresh mouse droppings ON MY DESK!
Gross!! I don't even have any food in/around/near my desk unless you count the Tupperware container of walnuts, but seriously can a mouse smell that out? And if they could, wouldn't mice be like everywhere? I don't get it. I don't like the little creatures and am quite skeeved that one has been on my desk! And I wonder if he/she is the one who took off with the banana that I swear I brought with me yesterday. I'm not sure they have that kind of strength, do they? Gah.

I'm a little grumpy today. I don't like being grumpy. I actually am happy, but having a grumpy day. Feel me? Yeah, I thought so. I guess we all have days where we wish we could just go right back to bed and get back out in hopes the day will be better. Oh well, all I can do is work on making it a non grumpy day.

Our annual beach vacation has been booked. Yay, I am happy!
Now I have something to look forward to in this cold weather we currently have hanging around.
And crap, I need to work harder on the whole beach bod thing. LOL
Yeah, I know folks, I will never have a "beach bod" but I'm still working on it. ;)

oops, I missed it!

My "Blogoversary," that is!?
What's a girl to do when she is having a busy, fun, good time with her family on the weekend??

I had intended to do some kind of "Give away" for this big event to celebrate my one year of blogging behind me, but with the holidays, me being sick, the kids being sick and so much other stuff going on I just forgot. So, I came up with nothing when I should have been at least thinking about some little something to do.

It's okay though. And I want you to know that I am NOT writing this post for any kind of blogoversary greetings. I just wanted those of you who knew that I mentioned at give away to not think worse of me for not getting around to it yet. Afterall, I do have a birthday coming up next month! :)

Snow Day!!!

That means no school, no work and all play for us today!!
Now when you see my pictures (if you are from the North) try not to laugh too hard. We southerners aren't quite as prepared for wintery weather like you are! So, when we get ice and then snow it just is a big mess on our roads. So, while I say we got snow understand that I do realize a half inch really isn't snow to some of you! ;) teehee

Peanut makes a snow angel.

Annabelle helps American Girl doll, Chrissa, snowboard on the driveway.
She even made sure to move some more snow to the driveway. ha

Daddy was confused about what season we are in. ;)

Snow sliding!!!

Mommy and her snow bunnies!

We had a great day (if you don't count all the whining, crying and fighting from the kids)! Now we are ending it by relaxing and watching a movie. Oh yeah, hubby made a killer pot of turkey chili and corn muffins! Yum!

I caved.

This post may be all over the place! I'm working and typing this between breaks so my thought process is all over.. Forgive me!? ;)

So, I had (still kinda do have) this real hate for Sponge Bob.
I never liked his humor and thought the show was just plain silly. However, my kids love it. I tried to ban SpongeBob watching at our house as much as I could, but when the kids visited my inlaw's they watched it all the time. Then this year Annabelle lucked up and got a teacher who happens to be madly in love with SpongeBob. Gross, right!? So, my battle was pretty much over. It's not like I could fight with the school over a cartoon (unless it was South Park).

Ok, so our front bathroom is the kids. When we bought our house something like 4/5 years ago it was painted this really horrid yellow color. It was like a cross between mustard and baby vomit. Gross, right!? Ha. Well, we went with the same decor the previous owners had because I lucked up and Walmart had it! Whew. So we waited to paint and have just dealt with it. I mean who needs a fancy place to go poop?

Well, this Christmas season our little Elf, Willie, brought the kids a can of blue paint for their Daddy to paint the bathroom. Daddy and I had talked about redoing the whole thing at some point, as far as kid friendly decor goes. I can't even remember how we came up with SpongeBob other than I guess I felt the need to make it something that I knew both kids like and was pretty gender neutral. And I planned just right because Kmart happened to be having a sale!

So, while the kids were sleeping Christmas Eve...Santa did his/her thing.

The kids were super excited! Of course, Annabelle was the first to ask me when I had time to do it!? I played it off and told her that her daddy and I didn't do it that Santa must have gotten sneaky! ;) Oh and Peanut's favorite part... was how the shower curtain smelled! LOL He kept telling me to sniff it. Mmmm, no thanks!

Random Thoughts Tuesday

randomtuesday

Tuesday, Tuesday.
Blah!

Do you ever wake up just feeling, ick, blah.. no bueno!?! Well, I guess you could say I did today.
Yesterday I woke up rip roarin' ready to go. Today is a different story and I wish like heck that I had another cup of coffee. It's 10:20 and while I have accomplished a lot (at work, seriously) I still feel like my day is off.Oh well, right!? Might as well get over that and get going.

I still didn't bring my camera to work with me to upload all my holiday pics to my computer here. Bummer too because my work computer has my Olympus Master program on it. It's good for editing all my lovely pics to make them even lovelier. I have had a few chances to play with it and it is quite fun. This smart lady posted today about the mode dial on cameras. I think I will now make it a resolution for this year to get to know my new camera better. After all, it might make picture taking even more fun! ;)

This shouldn't bug me but it does. I think it is so silly when people constantly change there relationship status on FB from engaged to in a relationship and back and forth and THEN, then they also update their "looking for info" to say either men or women. Seriously, what is up with that? So weird (to me).

My Christmas tree and decor is still up. So are the outside lights, which I won't complain about since it has been colder than a brass witches ti....oh nevermind. Anyway, I really think maybe this weekend would be a good time to start taking down at least the inside decor or maybe I could just talk my hubby into turning it all into Valentine's Day decor? ha ha No kidding, a neighbor down the road has their porch all lit up and decked out for the lovey dovey holiday to come. Does anyone else do that?? hmm...

Did I mention yet that I got some new clothes for Christmas? well, I did. My mom got me some jeans and at first I told her to get me some of my fave fit from Old Navy..the Dreamer! Love them. I also told her to get a 14 and a 16 since I had been wearing a 16 since October I thought better to be save with the size than sorry later. And yes, I did just broadcast my size in the blogosphere.. oh well, right. Anyhoo.. I tried them both on at her house and guess what?! Yeah, I got to return the a little bit too big 16s for a second pair of a still a wee bit too tight, but I will get in them soon 14s! I mean, why keep the 16s when I am going to (GOING TO) be out of them soon? I mean it isn't like I have to lay on the bed to zip them anyway..do you remember seeing your mom do that when you were younger? ha ha funny. I prefer standing to zip my jeans.

Did I mention this post is random?
In case I didn't, could you even tell? ha ha
I'm just so funny today (fine, maybe just to myself!)

A look back...

I didn't bring my camera to work with me today, so I was unable to download any of our holiday pics to my work computer. I did get a few minutes (between working, of course!) to look through my past holiday albums. I cannot get over how much the kids really do change from year to year. These are the last 3 Christmas card pics from 07-09.  And yes, before you ask, I am partial to the Children's Place fuzzy pj's for Christmas! The kids even got them again this year but since Annabelle was in pink and Peanut in royal blue I just wasn't feeling they made the best choice for pictures especially since the pink was trimmed in purple and the blue in red. You know, if your going to match fine but clashing...pass! ;)

Goodbye 2009

Happy New Year to all my blog friends!
